Systems of Weight and Measurement in the United Kingdom
- The United Kingdom officially uses a metric system but it is still common to use the imperial system which is often used for distances.

- Yard (yd) contains 3 feet. It is equal to 91.4 centimetres.

- Pound (lb) contains 12 ounces. It is equal to 454 grams.
- Ounce (oz) equals 28 grams.

- Gallon (gal) contains 4 quarts. It is equal to 4.55 l.
- Quart (qt) contains 2 pints. It is equal to 1.14 l.

Currency
- The British currency is called pound (£), it is also known as GBP - Great British Pound.
- One pound equals 100 pennies (p).
- Notes come in denominations of £5, £10, £20 and £50.
- Coins come in 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2.
