Punctuation
The ‘.‘ mark has got three names depending on its use: a dot, a full stop, a point.
A dot
- In e-mail and web addresses before ‘com’
- In abbreviations after the last letter and in acronyms after every letter
A point
- In large numbers between every three digits beginning from the end
- in the hour between the number of hours and minutes
A full stop
- at the end of a sentence that is not a question or an exclamation.
