  1. Plans and intentions for the future;
  2. Predictions based on signs we see at the moment;
  3. Things that are about to happen (that we are sure about them).

We can use the Future tense with “To be going to” to talk about the future. When used in its Affirmative form, something about the subject is confirmed.

The Future tense with “To be going to” in their Affirmative form has this structure:
Subject + “to be” + going to + verb.

For example:
—”Look at all the people. I think I’m going to work one hour more.” = We can predict that I will work one hour more thanks to some signs we see, for example, all the people in a restaurant, that’s why we use the Future with “To be going to”.
> “I’ll work one hour more.” = In this case we use the Future Simple because we express a future decision taken in the moment of speaking.

NOTE: We use this form of the future tense primarily to talk about plans and intentions for the future, predictions based on signs we see at the moment and to say something is about to happen.
