Introduction
The letter y can be pronounced in different ways, depending on which word it is.

Use
The letter y that has many sounds.
- When y is placed in the middle of the word, can have either the /i/ sound or the /ai/ sound;
- Words ending in -ty use the /i/ sound;
- When words start with y-, the sound of the letter is /j/.
