Semicolon
Introduction
The semicolon is a punctuation mark, something between a full stop and a comma. It is stronger than a comma but weaker than a full stop.

The semicolon symbol is: ;
Example
- Call me tomorrow; we will talk about it.
- Tell me what you’re afraid of; I’ll try to help you.
- I’ve studied a lot; I hope I’ll pass.
Use
A semicolon can replace a period if the writer wishes to narrow the gap between two closely linked sentences.
