Present Simple je glagolsko vrijeme koje se koristi za izražavanje radnji koje se događaju redovito, koje se ponavljaju stalno i uvijek.
U negativnom obliku glagol poriče nešto u vezi subjekta.
EXTRA: Present Simple = Prezentom.
Negativni oblik glagola to travel ima ovu strukturu*:
Subject + auxiliary verb “do” + not + base form of the verb (“does” for the third person singular).

The third person singular consists of: Third person singular of the verb To do (=does) + not + base form of the verb you’re conjugating (in this case “to travel”).

Present Simple se koristi u negativnom obliku pitanja/odgovora ili za izražavanje odbojanja/poricanja:
- Budućim događajima (Planovi s već određenim datumom);
- Vozni redovi (planirani događaji s točnim vremenom);
- Navike / rutine (nešto što se događa u više navrata u ovom trenutku);
- Činjenice (Stvari koje su istinite, navedene);
- Stalne situacije (koje se trenutno odvijaju i koje će se dogoditi u budućnosti);
- Obećanja;
- Upute (narudžbe);
- Završeni radnje u trenutku kad govorimo (npr. komentari);
- Neformalno pripovijest (Kod pričanje priča).
Koristimo Present Simple za izražavanje radnji koje se događaju redovito, koje se ponavljaju stalno i redovito. Kad ga koristimo u negativnom obliku, niječemo činjenicu o subjektu.
Present Simple u negativnom obliku ima ovaj oblik:
Subject + auxiliary verb “do” + not + base form of the verb (e.g. He does not work on Tuesdays.) (“does” for the third person singular).
Npr.:
— “I don’t work on Tuesdays.” =
— “I don’t live in a small flat.” =
— “The train doesn’t leave at 6.” =
— “The water doesn’t boil at 90 degrees Celsius” =
