Causative Verbs are verbs that show the reason that why something took place. Subjects in Causative Verbs don’t take action by themselves but let someone to do for them. They cause something else to happen in a way. The Causative Verbs are: have, get, make, let.
We use “get” for somebody to do something for us.
The get + person + to + verb structure means persuading someone to do something.
- John got his elder child to wash his car.
- I will get the doctor to give a medicine.
- They were too afraid of flying but their mother got them to fly.
We emphasize the idea of somebody to do something. We need something to be done by somebody else. That is why we use get.
