62 Question Tags Referring to Nobody, Nothing, Somebody
A Question Tag is a short question at the end of a sentence which is used to check information, ask for confirmation (negative tag) or agreement (positive tag). {see Question Tags, A2 Level}
- “Nothing“ is used with “it“ when we make a Question Tag:
Nothing/Everything + it + (?); - “Nobody“ and “somebody“ are used with “they“ when we make a Question Tag:
Nobody/Everybody/Somebody + they + (?).
- Everthing is philosophic, isn’t it?
- Nothing is related to security, is it?
- Nobody came from the army, did they?
- Everybody attacked to each other, didn’t they?
- Everything: All things that exist, all the things that associate with the subject;
- Nothing: Not any thing, not even one single thing;
- Nobody: No person, not anyone;
- Everybody: Everyone, every person.
When we use Nothing or Everything in a sentence, Question Tag should be “it”.
If there is Nobody, Everybody or Somebody, Question Tag should be “they” in order the sentence to be grammatically correct.
